Hitched Journal Issue 06 - Oheka Castle - Corinne + Tucker / Photography by Jeff Tisman

Tell us about your experience with Jeff Tisman Photography:

“I remember clicking through so many portfolios and all the photos looked the same. Just posed and lifeless. But when I saw your site, I could immediately see people’s personalities. You could feel their joy.”

When we received our wedding gallery, it was everything we hoped!

“I’m a super shy, awkward person, but I can actually see myself relax in the photos. That moment of the first look—Jeff captured it frame by frame, and it’s like reliving it.

Corinne is not a fan of taking photos, but she looks amazing in every single one.

And the getting-ready shots? Jeff nailed them. There’s a shot of me and my dad that’s just… wow. That one hit me.

And I’m so glad we have some photos that show us in a more romantic light. We’re not super lovey-dovey, but it is a wedding. It’s nice to have that balance of real and elevated.”

Oheka Castle is said to be America’s grandest castle: Perched on the highest point of Long Island in Cold Spring Harbor, Oheka Castle is one of the most storied and breathtaking wedding venues in the world. The 127-room French-style chateau — the second-largest private residence ever built in America — has been hosting weddings since 1919 and has earned the title of #1 Most Unforgettable Wedding Venue by WE TV. Couples have the exclusive run of the castle, as Oheka hosts just one wedding per day, offering multiple elegant event spaces to make the day entirely their own. The in-house culinary team delivers a full white-glove dining experience, from passed hors d'oeuvres and custom entrées to a dessert café and personalized wedding cake, paired with signature cocktails and top-tier bar service. With a $40 million restoration that brought its grand ballroom, formal gardens, and wrought-iron grand staircase back to their original splendor, Oheka Castle offers the rare combination of genuine history and world-class hospitality — an unforgettable setting where couples and their guests can celebrate in the same halls once graced by royalty, Hollywood stars, and heads of state.

How Corinne & Tucker’s story began:
We met on a lucky Saturday morning in May while I was coaching a kids’ baseball team in Central Park. Corrine was walking her little brother to the game, and I noticed her right away—baseball cap, early morning, total surprise. I asked her to take a team photo, handed her my phone, and slipped in a smooth request for her number. The next day, we went to Boat Basin for our first date and realized we both lived on the Upper West Side. From that moment, it just felt meant to be.

How did Oheka come to be the venue? How many places did you look at before choosing it?

Tucker: “I’m from North Carolina, so New York venues were intimidating at first. We saw four or five in Manhattan, but then Corrine mentioned Oheka, which she’d always wanted to see.

As soon as I drove onto the grounds, I knew. I could picture the whole weekend—yoga on the lawn, family coffee, everything happening in one place instead of scattered around the city. That sealed it for me.”

Corrine: “I always imagined a Manhattan wedding with skyline views. But once we saw Oheka and I saw Tucker’s reaction, I knew it was the right choice. It felt like being away with family and friends for the weekend, something you just can’t do in the city.”

What ended up being your favorite moment from the wedding day?

Tucker: “The rings surprised me. I didn’t expect to feel so deeply about that moment. But when Corrine put the ring on my finger, it hit me hard. Also, seeing Corrine—after all her hard work planning, making the contracts, doing everything—seeing her vision come to life was so moving. And yeah, even though we see each other every day, that first look gave me butterflies.”

Corrine: “I totally agree. That first look was everything I hoped for. The emotion was real. I kept picturing that moment in my head, and it totally lived up to the hype. That was when everything started to feel real.”

What ended up being your favorite moment from the wedding day?

“Having everyone we love—from all chapters of our lives—in one place. I love the idea of people who’ve never met coming together at a dinner table and connecting. That’s my dream night, and the wedding was just that, but bigger.”

Venue favorite features:

Tucker: “The gardens were incredible. There is this amazing shot of us in the pool area—me carrying Corrine, her red Louboutin soles peeking out. That photo is on the cover of my website. Also, the aerial view of the ceremony—that shot with the gardens and all our guests was a ‘wow’ moment.”

Corrine: “That aerial view was huge for me. And Oheka reminded us of the European estates we visited while living abroad, which added an emotional layer to everything.”

Tucker: “We’re in Brooklyn now, but after we met, I moved to London for work, and Corrine went to do her Master’s in International Tax Law. We traveled a lot together, and Oheka brought back memories of French estates and country houses. It felt very full circle.”

The Ceremony: Baseball has always been a big part of our story—it’s how we met—so getting married at home plate just made sense. Corrine’s brother played college ball, her dad’s a huge fan, and we even had embroidered gloves with our wedding date to play catch during the celebration. We framed the actual home plate we stood on—it still has the grass stains and all.

Sentimental Details:

Our love for travel wove its way into every detail of the day. Our invitations looked like passports, the seating chart resembled an airport departures board, and the centerpieces featured vintage globes and maps. We even tucked “Thank You” notes onto luggage tags for each guest to take home, and our cake was designed with delicate topographical ridges that felt like a nod to the places we’ve explored together.

Travel is a huge part of our lives—we’ve lived in London, and we actually run a travel nonprofit now called Tucks Travels, where we help low-income families get their first passports and experience international travel. So incorporating that into the wedding—bringing people and cultures together, that’s kind of our whole thing.

We wanted to include a few subtle touches that reflected that part of our lives,

so we added hand-lettered quotes about purpose and service into the floral arrangements. It felt meaningful to tie it all together: love, travel, and giving back.
Our wedding was full of personal touches that felt like us from start to finish. We had a signature cocktail called Southern Charm—an old fashioned made with Cheerwine, a cherry soda from my home in the South. Our cake featured the New York skyline, which was Corrine’s vision. The pastry chef actually sketched it right in the library room at Oheka, and we still have that signed sketch framed at home.

We added a few spontaneous surprises too—an ice sculpture and a cigar roller with personalized cigar bands that came together at the last minute. Even our place cards were hand-folded paper airplanes. Every detail had a story behind it, and together they made the day feel completely, unmistakably us.

The Cake: For nearly 30 years, Executive Pastry Chef Daniel Andreotti has been the creative force behind one of the most celebrated elements of the Oheka Castle wedding experience — the cake. A self-taught artist with a background in studio arts, Daniel opened his first bakery at just 20 years old before finding his true calling in luxury wedding cake design. At Oheka, every cake begins with a deeply personal consultation held in the castle's storied library, where couples sample up to nine flavors and collaborate with Daniel on a design that reflects their unique vision — whether that means bringing in photos of a grandmother's china or giving him full creative reign. Drawing inspiration from architecture, nature, and art, Daniel's cakes are known for their classical elegance — signature sugar flowers, intricate fretwork, and monograms crafted with the grandeur that Oheka Castle demands. For couples planning their wedding there, a Daniel Andreotti cake isn't just a dessert; it's a centerpiece, a keepsake, and a work of art.
